The Lanana Hall event center, 108 N. Lanana St., will be open for business June 1.
Garvin Fitch, owner, plans to host wedding receptions, anniversaries, business meetings and other social events in the building. There is wireless Internet available, media centers and a kitchen that is equipped to handle a caterer's services. Fitch said he would consider every event "you can dream up."

The structure was built in the 1950s. For many years, it housed Lanana Cleaners. Fitch bought the property in 2000 and opened it as a restaurant — The Bistro. However, Fitch decided to get out of the restaurant business.
"The restaurant business was not to my liking," Fitch said.
Fitch re-evaluated his business plan and decided to open an event center. Fitch said he spent most of the past six months renovating the place. The landscape has been changed to fit the area and to show off Nacogdoches and its history.
"I wanted the building and landscaping to be relevant to where it is," Fitch said.
For those unfamiliar with Nacogdoches or its history, Fitch said, the place would appear tasteful and elegant. Lanana Hall offers "top-notch" class for all events, he said.
