McCain raps Obama for not joining him at LULAC session

GOP presidential candidate John McCain talked about the economy and immigration in his remarks today at the annual meeting of the League of United Latin American Citizens in Washington.

But first McCain talked about Democratic opponent Barack Obama. McCain told conference attendees that he had invited Obama to appear with him in a town-hall format to discuss issues.

“Unfortunately, Senator Obama did not accept that,” McCain said prior to launching into his prepared text. “I hope that in the future he will.”

Obama, on the schedule for later in the day at the LULAC meeting, has not rejected McCain’s invitation for joint appearances but has yet to agree to any.
