Dear Senator McCain,
It is not fair for you to ask us American voters to wonder and worry about your age and health. You put the voters in the position of having to judge the odds of you maintaining your mental acuity and/or physical health. You are choosing to put the voters in a position of risk if we vote for you. That’s not fair to American citizens and that’s not “Country First.”
You put all the citizens of the United States at risk, sir, when you chose your running mate. A transfer of power to your VP choice (God forbid) would be a horribly destabilizing event for the nation. That’s not “Country First.” Why would you do that?
I think the reason you want to be president is because you want to play war. In everything you say, all the speeches about you, war is glorified. At the end of your acceptance speech you said you would “fight, fight, fight!” for your country. Well, fighting is good if it is necessary, but not such a good choice if it is unnecessary and involves guns and troops. This run for the presidency seems to me to be about you trying to rewrite your war story to have a more glorious ending, only this time you won’t be doing the actual fighting. Our sons and daughters will.
A fellow American
