Lago Vista open house canceled because of suspected flu cases
A notice from the Lago Vista school district:
“Meet the Teacher Night” has been canceled due to suspected cases of flu in Lago Vista school district.
On Wednesday, August 19 the district was notified of several cases of flu. None have been confirmed as H1N1, commonly known as swine flu.
And while none of the suspected cases are elementary students, in order to decrease possible exposure to flu, we are canceling the ice cream social and Meet the Teacher night at Lago Vista Elementary.
It’s never an easy decision to cancel events that are important to children and parents in the community, but in the interest of health and safety, we feel it is a necessary preventive measure at this time.
Class lists will be posted on the front and back doors of the elementary school at 4 p.m. today.
