Wyle cuts Austin jobs, but workers get new employer
Wyle Laboratories is cutting 67 Austin high-tech jobs at the end of the week, but most will move over to another company that won a government contract Wyle previously held.
In a letter to the Texas Workforce Commission, Wyle said that it lost an information technology and facilities management contract with the Jobs Corps. The new contractor is Altech Services, based in Oklahoma City.
Wyle said the change will be seamless for employees, with no gap in work time or benefits.
Wyle was required to report the change to the Workforce Commission under federal law governing job cuts.
