No decision on TxDOT lobbying
A Travis County judge has not yet ruled on the issue of TxDOT lobbying, according to a blog post on The (Bexar County) Walker Report.
The question before the court was this: did TxDOT act outside the bounds of their statutory restrictions on expenditure of public money for a political purpose? For instance, did it break the law by using taxpayer money to wage a political ad campaign pushing toll roads and the Trans Texas Corridor, and did it break the law by with lobbying activities?
A lawsuit brought by TexasTURF says the state transportation agency illegally hired lobbyists to promote the Trans Texas Corridor, in violation of state law.
We’ll keep an eye on the case as it develops.

TxDOT is really a joke, the streets and roads are not maintained properly at all, Like the intersection of University Dr, and Martinsille Road by the Chevron Gas Station and MANY OTHERS throughout Nacogdoches County, Texas.
The patch job that this intersection is very POOR, for years it needs to be dug up and re-made. it shake a car terriably, I have a power chair, it has the bearings in my tires, and at time feel like one day a wheel will BREAK OFF, all complains but none is recorded. this company needs to stand behine their work, to ride over them would put any one’s name. I would be ashamed to be connected with TxDOT.

Not only is there the possibility of TxDOT breaking the law by misusing our hard earned tax dollars for advertizing and lobbying, but it simply is not right. As for as this tax payer is concerned, every top level individual within TxDOT should be immediately fired. Along with those individuals, the five TxDOT Commissioners appointed by Gov. Perry (Mr. 39% or Gov. Hair) should be ran out of office along with Mr. 39%. They are crooks and lining their pockets with kick-backs. Wonder how much property they all own along the proposed TTC?
Have any of you taken the time to get on the Texas State Comptroller’s website (Susan Combs). Well, you ought to and look into TxDOT’s annual budget and actual annual expenditures. Ms. Combs has the entire annual budgets and the actual expenditures posted. Be aware, you may get sick at your stomach, when you see how TxDOT is wasting our hard earned tax dollars. Oh, and TxDOT officials will tell you most of that money is Federal money. Like we are too dumb to know where Federal dollars come from.
At the rate TxDOT is going, it will soon have more employees than the TDCJ. Another Texas out of control “dynasty”!
