Who supports the corridor?
Local and state government officials, including the Mayor of Lufkin, took a beating in this blog about Williamson County, Texas, for advocating benefits of the TTC to the Senate Transportation Committee Thursday.
Which makes me wonder what the range thinking is on the issue in East Texas. Here’s a poll question:

if the average citizen of angelina,or nacogdoches county thinks they will benefit from the TTC they have not researched this monster.wake-up people!!

This is an attempt by mega-corporations to bypass U.S. ports and save billions in shipping. It will take business away from us and also provide a WIDE open door for terrorists, drug trafficers and illegal immigration. TTC is a disaster waiting to happen. WATCH OUT!!

The naysayers said the same things when the Farm to Market road system was put in, then again when the Interstate Highway system was put in. Responsible politicians will ignore the negatives and do what they know is right, which is to build this and any other transportation improvement they can now before it is too late. Congestion is already bad on the Interstates.

This is not for Texan’s use. They don’t even want many entrances to it in the state. This is the Nafta Super-Highway for foreign trucks to use from Mexico to Canada with the first stop being in Kansas. Texas is only being used for pavement. And did someone actually say “responsible politician”?

USA should build and manage their own highways, not contract out to a foreign country. Who would patrol the corridor and be responsible for road maintenance? This plan, as is, would lead to more illegal immigration, terrorist threats, and decline in American business due to increased imports. We need to support our country and businesses and then consider foreign imports second.
