Mental health service in works
Hoping to relieve local law enforcement and medical agencies from handling mental health emergencies, Nacogdoches County commissioners voted Tuesday morning to contribute money toward a proposed emergency psychiatric service center in the area.

Plan for service station runs out of gas
A standing room only crowd at Tuesday night’s city commission meeting watched a display of public outcry over the proposed construction of a convenience store at the intersection of Appleby Sand Road and Loop 224, a request that ultimately failed by a vote of three to two.

Proposed facility could address a variety of mental health issues
The only facilities capable of handling mental health emergencies in Nacogoches County — a hospital emergency room or the county jail — might be considered sufficient, if the amount of time required to dispose of these cases was a matter of hours.
