Commissioners vote to pay off jail staff comp time
Nacogdoches County is in a “unique position” this year with a surplus of money in the jail budget compared to last year, because the daily jail population has consistently been lower, according to County Judge Joe English.

NISD waiting on word from USDA on how to dispose of beef
Nacogdoches ISD has received official word that the 268 cases of whole ground beef the district has in stock from Chino-based Westland/Hallmark Meat Co. has been recalled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, according to Vanessa Hooper, NISD director of student nutrition.
