It’s about time they do away with the Deputy Constables. That is the biggest example of wasting county dollars. Also, I really like the idea of the county getting several small, economical cars for people to check out to conduct business. The only thing I would change is to add the commissioners themselves on the carpool. The commissioners do not need their own cars…road and bridge people take care of the roads, so why do commissioners need trucks? The other commissioners who did not comment on the proposed budget should vote for this budget. If not they have some questions to answer from at least this angry taxpayer..

“since there is an excess of officers on patrol.”

What in the world does this mean!

So what is an acceptable number of Deputies.

I say take the truck away from the commissioners

Too many officers on patrol? What part of the county does HE live in? Oh yea, he lives in TOWN.

why do the commissioners need company trucks anyway? if they need a car there are vehicles that get 30 mpg out there instead of a four wheel drive ford that gets 14 mpg. just a thought

The motorcycle accident must have caused some brain damage. Since when have we ever had an excess of patrol officers patrolling the county? If that is the case, why did the reserve deputy and his wife get injured? They were patrolling because there were no Sheriff’s deputies available! Bush needs to ask all of the victims of thefts and burglaries if they think there are too many deputies out there. The Judge and Court need to get real and pay attention to the needs of the county when it comes to Law Enforcement. One other thing, just where exactly are the Deputy Constables supposed to work at the SO, there are too many SO employees taking up the space.
