A hair affair

We’re in the home stretch. This week marks the last week of August, and the approach of the fall season. While moms and college students are getting accustom to bus schedules, early morning practices and the return of homework, I am getting reacquainted with camel cardigans, brown berets and the idea of darker hair. Typically, each fall, I take my mop of strawberry blonde tresses, and knock them down a notch to a burgundy wine or deep auburn color. I like the idea of dark hair, smoky eyes and pale skin for the fall and winter months because it seems to make a bold statement. Just look at the photo spreads of Vogue, W and Vanity Fair. But this year, as one of my closest friends has repeatedly voiced opposition to idea of dyed hair, I have started to flirt with the idea of leaving it light. Should his opinion combined with the $150 price tag dissuade me from rekindling my fall hair affair?
