Chick flicks

I have varied tastes in films. I love horrors, mainly because I like being scared. I’m big into the French films from the 1960s, and I hate to say it, but growing up without cable, I developed a special fondness for Star Trek. But, the one genre I’ve never really gotten into is the chick flick. Most chick flicks just seem stupid to me. They’re usually about a girl who can’t get a guy or doesn’t know she wants the guy, who really wants her. But presto, by the end of the film they’re magically together. If only it happened like that in real life. But tonight, despite my aversion, I’m headed to see House Bunny . The film is pretty much the epitome of a chick flick — I love the part in the preview where Anna Farris pulls out a water bra and says, “This is your most important weapon, the water bra … just stay away from sharp corners” — but it just looks funny, and rather center around a romance, it appears to be more focused on female bonding, which is perfect because that’s exactly what I plan to do tonight. So T get ready, because tonight, it’s all about us girls.
