Clark Howard's Tips

Tattoos for cash?!

December 10, 2007

What do you do if you're 23 years old and looking for a new source of income? Try finding someone who's willing to pay you to get tattooed, of course!

That's the latest idea cooked up by Joel, Clark's young associate producer. Joel currently is inkless; if he remains that way, he'll be one of only 60 percent of people between the ages of 25 and 40 who isn't tattooed.

Even traditional holdouts like educated college women are now giving in to the tattoo trend. Clark's 18 year old daughter is now of age and he tells her she's free to get as many tattoos as she wants . . . if she wants him to stop paying for her college!

Joel has discovered a website that he's seriously considering using called LeaseYourBody.com.

Here's how it works: You decide on a certain dollar amount that you'll accept for a temporary tattoo and post it to your profile on the site. Then advertisers log on and select the candidates they like. You get to pick the part of your body you're willing to cover. (Forehead tattoo, anyone?)

There was one instance of Goodyear offering a free set of tires to anyone who got a permanent tattoo! With that in mind, we're dying to know: Are there any listeners out there who would be down with some Clark Howard ink??
