CUSHING — Carlisle scored 17 points in the second half to defeat Cushing 17-8 Friday.

Dylan Barton cashed in 133 yards on 16 carries and scored Cushing's lone touchdown in the first quarter, but it wasn't enough late.

The Bearkats took an 8-0 lead into halftime, but allowed Carlisle to quickly get back into the game on a blocked punt that resulted in a touchdown.

Cushing ends its season at 1-9.

JASPER - The Center Roughriders had to overcome five turnovers Friday on the road to defeat Jasper Friday night, but a goalline stand by the Bulldogs with less than a minute to play held the 'Riders at bay and the Jasper won a controversial 32-25 contest here at Bulldog Stadium.

The win didn?t have any playoff implications. It did, however, decide which school would finish as runner-up behind Carthage (10-0) in the District 18-3A race. Jasper (8-2) placed second with a 4-1 mark, losing only to Carthage, while Center (7-3) came in third with a 3-2 mark.

Center will now face Tatum in the Class 3A Division II Bi-District playoffs next Friday at Stephen F. Austin?s Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches. Jasper will meet No.1-ranked Gilmer (10-0) in the first round of the playoffs in Class 3A Division I postseason action.
