A film shows one of the world's greatest bands performing in South Africa on its Vertigo tour.

'U2 3D' proves concert movies can be huge
Joe Gross

"As much about the visual beauty of a performing rock band as it is about the music and the 3-D effects, as striking in its own way as ballet or basketball. "

U2 3D is incredible, especially on IMAX

"If you're a U2 fan you owe it to yourself to SEE THIS MOVIE!
An incredible concert video capturing U2 in Buenos Aires during a leg of the Vertigo Tour. Even if you own the Vertigo DVD the images in this film are so much clearer and one-step closer it will blow you away.
The only downside is it is 89 minutes which flies by when you're having this much fun."

Just songs

"Last 3D movie I saw at IMAX were "Ghosts of the Abyss" when the glasses were battery-powered helmets, now they're more like regular sunglasses. With cameras hovering around and above the stage it's as close to the real thing as you can get without actually being there. Also, traffic and crowd around the Mall of GA will give you an additional impression of going to a real U2 concert."

"This is the best show I have seen at the IMAX. I wanted to jump up and sing along. You definitely have to go check it out even if you are not a U2 fan."
