New 'X-Files' leaves little to believe

Christy Lemire

Associated Press

"I want to believe another "X-Files" movie is necessary but the definitive "X-Files" movie may not be out there after all."

"This would have been a great plot/storyline for a 1 hour X Files - but it was drug out to make a movie, and it shows. What sold was alien contact - and there is none."

Bad Movie! And I typically can sit through one

"Wow, were we disappointed! I registered to review this movie because during these hard economic times, I don't think anyone should waste their money. You will not be entertained. The best way I can describe this movie is that it seems like one of their blandest episodes drawn out to be over 1.5 hrs. .5hr of this movie is the two leads having the same argument. "Yes" I believe, "No" I don't and I am no longer in this business. It happened at least 4 times and at length. So much so that my husband and I started to giggle. Then others did too. It was ludicrous. I don't know what the writer/director/producer was thinking. It is nothing like the first x-files. It has no special effects, no cool factor, just TALKING. And that would have been ok, if the dialogue were at all interesting. "

"I am a long time fan of the X-Files and I can tell you one thing, this movie sucks. Absolutely nothing weird or strange about this movie (except the psychic and the 2 headed dog). Oooohh, scary. The plot stunk with the "I want to believe, no I don't want to believe" topic coming up over and over along with the "Is timmy going to survive the operation" junk. Please. Whomever thinks the storyline for this movie is good better have their head checked. The only thing I can't BELIEVE is that I spent 8 bucks and almost 2 hours watching this dribble."

I Wish I Could Believe!

"The 2nd installment of the X-Files movie francise flows more like an episode of the TV show than a movie for the big screen. It's great to see Scully & Mulder team up again, but I question the summer release date vs. other recent new movies that will upstage this weak film in the profit category: "The Dark Knight", "Hell Boy II: The Golden Army", "Mamma Mia". I think a late fall release like November or early December would have made more sense. I wish I could believe, but this film kinda feels like a diversion from the truth that's out there, perhaps for another sequel? "

"I loved the movie! Good ole Mulder & Scully-- I got a little flava of the old and a hint of the future. Without giving away anything, it did not disappoint. "
