Members of Nacogdoches' churches celebrated Easter by hosting Holy Week services each day at noon, March 17 through 21 at the First United Methodist Church. Lunch was served in the family life center.
The services were sponsored by The Ministers" Fellowship and the churches of Nacogdoches. According to Kyle Childress, chairman of the Ministers' Fellowship,
"The services were great. Members of our churches really enjoy these times when we can not only meet together, but worship together," said the Rev. Kyle Children, chairman of The Ministers Fellowship which sponsored the event along with numerous churches of Nacogdoches.
Offerings taken each day were contributed to Love in the Name of Christ to help those in need in Nacogdoches County. Proceeds from the meals, less expenses, were also donated to Love in the Name of Christ.
"Attendance was very good this year," said the Rev. Bill Parsons, one of the organizers of the event. "We had an average attendance of 92 each day."
Cooks and servers for the daily lunches were led by Macra Brunson and Marilyn Larison.
