5-foot snake missing after wreck in Troup

A woman in a one-vehicle rollover in Troup lost more than control.

Her 5-foot-long pet boa constrictor was still missing Saturday.

Authorities say the wreck happened Thursday night. The woman, who suffered minor injuries, was located walking on a road and her car was upside-down nearby, in some trees.

The Troup Volunteer Fire Department, which responded to the accident, was told by the woman that she was transporting her snake in an aquarium and the reptile was missing after the wreck.

Troup city worker and volunteer firefighter Lonnie Petty said "no, we haven't found it yet," when asked Saturday by The Associated Press if the snake was located.

Troup is about 115 miles southeast of Dallas.
