Theft, 1700 block of South Street. A person was seen stopping on a bicycle, pulling up several flowers from a flower bed and then leaving the area.

Fraud. A man was called and told he had won $2.5 million, but had to send $200 to caller to receive the winnings. After sending the $200, the man felt the incident may have been fraudulent.

Theft, 1100 block of North University Drive. Dedrick Thearais Stearn, 38, of 1603 Hurst St., was arrested after taking several items from the Belk Department Store without paying, the report said.

Theft, 1300 block of Looneyville Road. A resident of a home said several Xanax tablets were taken when he had several guest in his home.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, 300 block of West College Street. A 1985 Caprice with Louisiana registration was stolen.

———

Theft, 2700 block of North Street. A wireless card was taken from a laptop.

———

Forgery, 4800 block of North Street. A money order was forged with a person's name.

———

Assault, 2800 block of Pearl Street. A person was pulled to the ground during a disturbance, but the person did not wish to file charges, and no injuries were reported.

———

Assault, Flamingo Bingo. A woman slammed a car door on the leg of a man.

———

Theft, Highway 21 East. Two air conditioning units were taken from the front porch of a home.

———

Cruelty to animals, CR 217. The previous renters of a property left three dogs with no food and water.

———

Public intoxication, Woden Road. Deputies spoke to a man they believed to be intoxicated. He attempted to walk away as they were speaking to him, and was arrested.

SFA POLICE REPORT

Terroristic threat, Lot 8. Two threatening notes were left on a woman's vehicle.

———

Criminal mischief, Lot 42. Yellow shoe polish was used to write on a vehicle.

———

Arrests included: Craig Allen Becker, 40, Hudson, warrant for assault/family violence; Kevin Eugene Meek, 30, 3906 Sandyland Circle, public intoxication; William Zachery Parks, 21, 3220 North St., No. 239, interference with an emergency call; and Tynae Shantaura Swindle, 20, 3022 North St., No. 239, assault/family violence.

Jail Population

On Thursday morning, 178 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
