Theft, 1100 block of University Drive. Employees observed people who were known to them taking items from a business, and warrants were requested for them.

Assault, 1600 block of Cardinal Street. Angela Darnay Young, 21, of 110 Griffith Blvd., No. 409, was arrested for punching someone in the arm.

———

Assault, 3100 block of Logan Circle. A woman was assaulted by someone who also prevented her from calling 911. A warrant was requested for them.

———

Harassment, 2800 block of Logan Circle. A known person continues to call after being told not to.

———

Theft, 900 block of Jordan Street. Money was reported stolen by a known person from a home.

———

Criminal mischief, FM 1638. A mailbox was run over.

———

Theft, McGuire Lane. A chain hoist was stolen from a man's property.

———

Hit-and-run, 3100 block of North Street.

———

SFA POLICE REPORT

False alarm, Hall 14. A smoke bomb was set off which caused a smoke detector to activate.

———

Assault, Steen Hall. Responding to a fight in progress, officers spoke to a man who said the driver of a vehicle got out and assaulted him after he ran a stop sign.

———

Credit card abuse, Hall 14. There were two unknown charges made with a credit card.

———

Theft, Griffith Fine Arts. A hard drive was removed from a computer.

———

Failure to identify and criminal trespass, Steen Hall. A suspicious person was stopped, and the man gave a false name and date of birth. After the man left, officers discovered this and a warrant was requested.

Burglary of a habitation, Garner Apartments. An iPod was taken from a residence.

———

Theft, Steen Library. Textbooks left unattended were missing when the owner returned.

———

Arrests included: Angel Silvestre Gaspar, 30, 6325 FM South 225 Lot F, hit-and-run; Giovani Gonzales, 19, 2140 Briar Forest St., public intoxication; Manuel W. Hogan, 37, 1313 South Shawnee St., disorderly conduct; David Irby, 22, P.O. Box 8562, SFA, warrant for theft; Michael Wayne Jacobs, 40, 749 CR 508, robbery; Franchell Patrice Kennedy, 20, 514 College St., credit card abuse; Ciro Ocampo, 22, 2140 Briar Forest St., public intoxication; Steven Spearman, 33, 1924 Timberlake St., parole warrant; Shaenika Shante Sterns, 28, 1023 Douglass Road, disorderly conduct; Demarcus D. Washington, 27, 404 Oak Hill Plaza, possession of a controlled substance and failure to identify; and George Washington, 25, 2714 Logan Circle, No. 202, driving while intoxicated.

Jail Population

On Tuesday morning, 221 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
