Racing, 2600 block of North University Drive. Two vehicles were seen traveling in excess of 70 mph northbound on University Drive. One of the vehicles was stopped and the driver was arrested.

Burglary of a vehicle, 1500 block of Creekside Drive. A vehicle was entered and a speaker box was taken.

Burglary of a building, 201 North St., EZ Auto. A building was entered by unknown means and a television was taken from the waiting area.

Burglary of a building, 2608 North St., Schlotzsky's Deli. The business was entered by force and a small amount of loose change was taken.

Burglary of a habitation, 2000 block of Virginia Avenue. A home was entered and a wallet containing credit cards and identifying information was taken.

Assault, 2100 block of Durst Street. A person reported being assaulted by a 13-year-old juvenile.

Criminal mischief, Shady Rest Drive. A father and son were in an altercation where the son damaged property inside the home. The son was located in the woods later and arrested.

Evading arrest and assault, CR 466. Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance but everyone was gone. A short time later, a suspect saw the deputies and ran into the woods. A warrant was requested.

Theft, Student Center. A backpack was left unattended at Chik-Fil-A and was gone when the owner returned.

Minors in possession of alcohol, Starr Avenue. A vehicle was seen making an illegal left turn. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants were found to be a minors in possession of alcohol.

Possession of stolen signs, SFA Woods. Two people were found in possession of SFA street signs.

Assault, Lumberjack Lodge. A woman said her roommate had pushed her during an argument.

Arrests included: Herod Chatman, 37,CR 22 Pine Flat Road, warrants for theft and a motion to revoke probation; Tamela Lavette Hafford, 29, Bonwier, theft; Travis Wardlow Lane Jr., 41, 1514 Glass St., non-payment of child support; and Paul Scott, 48, homeless, non-payment of child support.

Jail Population
On Friday morning, 221 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
