Dollar store now short of dollars

Burglary of a building, 4300 Southeast Stallings Dr. Dollar General. Two suspects wearing gloves, ski masks and dark clothing cut a hole in the back of the store. Surveillance video shows them removing the store safe, which was bolted to the floor. The safe was later found in a field north of the store, its door beaten open. An unknown amount of money was taken.

Criminal mischief, theft, 2800 block of Pearl Street. The side of a 2000 Chevrolet sedan was scratched, and a substance that appeared to be transmission fluid was poured on its hood. Three of its hubcaps were also taken.

Assault family violence, 1200 block of Durst Street. A husband and wife were involved in a physical altercation during an argument over a television set.

Burglary of a building, 3300 block of North Street. A broken 5000 watt generator was taken from a locked storage building along with a box of hand tools.

———

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 2600 block of Park Street. Blank checks and an iPod were taken from an unlocked truck.

———

Fictitious or counterfeit insurance document, 3000 block of Park Street. A driver was stopped for a traffic violation and presented a forged insurance card. The officer could not verify this until the next day, so a warrant was requested.

Theft, 1300 block of West Main Street. A woman said her friend stole and sold a rented laptop.

———

Theft, 1700 block of Boney Street. A man said his friend took his PlayStation 2 without consent.

Failure to identify, 300 block of Ellington Street. While officers investigated a noise complaint, Brenna Nolte, 20, of McKinney, gave officers a false name and date of birth. She was arrested.

Assault, 2800 block of North Street. An argument between four men resulted in a fight.

———

Aggravated assault with a weapon, family violence, 10333 block of State Hwy. 7 West. A man was attacked by a woman with a knife. Tracy Teets, 45, was arrested at her home.

Disturbance, 8000 block of North Street. A man and woman argued.

———

Arrests included: James Durrell Angle, 24, 1206 Durst St. Apt. B, motion to revoke probation; Rodrigo Barreuta Escobar, 32, 914 Venda Lane, driving while intoxicated; George Thomas Hampton III, 32, 141 CR 483, Etoile, theft; Kimberly Michelle Howes, 28, Shelbyville, theft by check; Shannon Michelle Jaime, 28, Houston, warrants for theft of service and possession of drug paraphernalia; Jarrod Keith Lesley, 38, P.O. Box 630863, driving while intoxicated; Todd Lawrence Stevens, 19, 2805 North Street. No. 4, assault; and Barry Neal Washington, 45, 101 Oakhill Plaza, motion to revoke probation.

JAIL POPULATION

On Saturday morning, 174 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
