He wanted to be first in line... to go to jail

Reckless driver, 4100 block of North Street. Officers stopped a vehicle traveling in excess of 90 miles per hour on North Street. The driver was arrested.

Criminal mischief, CR 273. A man said someone shot two head of cattle in his pasture. The animals were valued at $1,600.

Recovered runaway juvenile, assault/family violence, 2900 block of EJ Campbell. A runaway juvenile was returned to her family and was later involved in a physical altercation with her parents. She was arrested.

———

Burglary of a habitation, 200 block of West California Street. Several items, including a TV and a microwave, were taken from an apartment. The homeowner said she recovered some of these items at her neighbor's apartment.

Theft, assault, 700 block of Barker. A man said another person assaulted him following a disturbance involving theft of money.

———

Assault/family violence, 1600 block of Spokane Street. A man and woman were involved in a physical altercation. There were no injuries and no one was arrested.

———

Driving while intoxicated, 3600 block of Southeast Stallings Drive. Officers stopped a reckless driver and he was found to be intoxicated.

———

Public intoxication, 2400 block of Southeast Stallings Drive. Officers arrested Jerry Don Davis, 29, 21644 U.S. Hwy. 59, and Brendan Thomas Suhor, 27, 449 CR 2221, after they were found to be intoxicated.

Arrests included: David Alvarado, 42, Lufkin, possession of marijuana; Cedrick Darell Bell, 21, San Augustine, no insurance, no drivers license; Dawna Brown, 41, Center, driving while intoxicated, failure to identify; Laaron Arlander Long, 20, 1515 West Main St., no insurance, no drivers license; David Cornell Myles, 20, 1311 Mark St., failure to register and license dog, animals running at large, no rabies vaccination for animals; Kathryn Louise Newton, 26, Temple, driving while intoxicated with an open container; Cedric Lamar Robinson, 30, 144 Hurst Circle, possession of drug paraphernalia, no drivers license, failure to maintain financial responsibility, speeding; and Brady Benjamin Welch, 26, 1270 CR 104 Lot 5, driving while intoxicated.

JAIL POPULATION

On Sunday morning, 184 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
