Failure to identify, 3400 block of East Main Street. Two people involved in a civil dispute gave false names to officers and were arrested.

Burglary of a vehicle, 2600 block of North University Drive. A vehicle owner caught a man taking items from his parked vehicle and detained him for police. Officers found five other vehicles in the lot that had been burglarized. The man was arrested.

Burglary of a habitation, 400 block of Shawnee Street. A residence was forcibly entered and meat was taken from a freezer.

Theft, 1500 block of Creekside Drive. A cell phone was stolen.

Burglary of a vehicle, 3900 block of South Street. A GPS unit was taken from a vehicle.

Burglary of a vehicle, 3800 block of South Street. A purse, a wallet and some cash were taken from a parked vehicle.

Robbery, 1216 South Street. A woman was seen shoplifting steaks from a store. When the woman was contacted, she assaulted a store employee, the report said. The suspect escaped.

Possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, Evelyn Street at Sanders Street. An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. As the vehicle was pulling over, the officer saw some items — suspected marijuana and a pipe — being thrown from it. Two people were arrested.

Burglary of a motor vehicle, FM 225, Cushing. Cash and cigarettes were taken from an unlocked vehicle.

Racing vehicles, Ponderosa subdivision. Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of racing vehicles in a neighborhood but were unable to locate them.

Disturbance in progress, 300 block CR 554. A man told officers that his wife, with whom he is separated, had come to his residence after drinking, had caused a disturbance and refused to leave. She was arrested for public intoxication.

Theft, 9800 block of U.S. Hwy. 259. Deputies responded to Polk's in reference to the theft of a sandwich. A person was discovered in the restroom attempting to flush the wrapper, and he fled the scene in a four-door vehicle.

Burglary, 3000 block of FM 2259. A metal door was damaged when someone made forced entry into a residence. A PlayStation, a game, three controllers and $170 were taken. Male juveniles are suspects, the report said.

On Monday morning, 214 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
