Burglary of a building, 200 block of Southeast Stallings Drive. A church was broken into, and a guitar and several microphones were taken.

Assault, San Augustine. A man was treated at the hospital after being assaulted by his girlfriend with a knife.

Assault/family violence, FM 103. A woman reported she had been punched in the face, pushed to the ground and strangled by her boyfriend on the side of the road. He was arrested.

Forgery, 900 block of Hackberry Street. A check was taken from a mailbox and cashed by someone other than the owner.

———

Burglary of a habitation, 1500 block of Timberlake Street. A laptop was taken from a home that was left unlocked.

———

Burglary of a vehicle, 3100 block of Austin Woods Street. An unlocked vehicle was entered, and an iPod, money and credit cards were taken.

———

Hit-and-run, 700 block of East Starr Avenue.

JAIL POPULATION

On Tuesday morning, 214 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
