Recovered property. The Trinity County Sheriff's Office reported that while cleaning out their property room, a firearm was found. The firearm was related to a theft from Nacogdoches, and they are unaware of how they came into possession of it.

Assault, El Castillo Club. At a fraternity party, a man asked a woman to dance. When she told him no, he punched her in the face and she was knocked unconscious and taken to the Memorial Hospital.

Animal bite, CR 717. Deputies spoke with a child at the Memorial Hospital emergency room who had been bitten by a squirrel.

Burglary of a vehicle, CR 2061. A truck was entered and several photos were taken.

Driving while intoxicated, 1700 block of South Fredonia Street. Officers found a man passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. He was found to be intoxicated, and he was arrested.

Driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, 3000 block of North Street. Officers responded to the report of a reckless driver. A vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be intoxicated, and he was arrested. He was also found in possession of marijuana and hydrocodone.

Assault/family violence, 700 block of Jordan Street. A man struck his wife in the face during an argument. The woman signed a complaint at the Nacogdoches Police Department.

Possession of marijuana, 300 block of West California Street. A juvenile was discovered to have marijuana. He was arrested and released to his parents.

Theft, 1100 block of Wells Street. A leaf blower was taken from a yard.

Theft, 400 block of North Street. A wallet was taken from a purse. The purse contained identifying information, two credit cards and several other items.

Theft, 200 Mimms Street. Two people said their purses had been taken from a building without consent. A phone was also reported stolen.

Burglary of a habitation, 2000 Durst Street. A residence was entered and a rifle was taken. The rifle was discovered at a pawn show and a suspect's information was obtained.

Assault/family violence, 4000 block of Old Post Oak Road. A woman said she had been assaulted by her 55-year-old son.

Theft, 700 block of Georgia Oak Street. Seventy-five silver dollars were reported taken from a home.

Criminal mischief, 1500 block of South Street. A rear window had been broken in a vehicle parked behind a business.

Criminal trespass and burglary of a vehicle, 700 block of Reedy Street. A vehicle was entered and a debit card and wallet were taken. At the same location, another person said someone had entered their vehicle and searched through it, but nothing was reported stolen.

Fraudulent use of identifying information, 600 block of E. Hospital Street. Money was withdrawn from a checking account and applied to a credit card in San Ramon, Calif., electronically.

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 2000 block of South Street. A vehicle was broken into and a purse was stolen. The purse contained credit cards that had been used around town.

On Saturday morning, 208 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
