Criminal mischief, 6th Street, Cushing. A man reported someone had put a paper plate containing taco meat in his mailbox. No damage was done to the property, and the owner suspects it might be kids in the neighborhood.

Animal problem, Highway 59 South. A baby goat was found eating grass near a roadway. The goat was put back in the fence and rejoined the herd.

Theft, 900 block of Shawnee Street. Cash and a card were taken from a purse.

Hit-and-run, 1200 block of North Street.

———

Criminal mischief, 1100 block of South Fredonia Street. A vehicle was damaged by an unknown person scratching it.

———

Burglary of a vehicle, 2700 block of George Street. A generator was taken from the bed of a truck.

———

Burglary of a habitation, 1500 block of Pearl Street. Entry was forced to an apartment, and four tires, four rims and shoes were taken.

JAIL POPULATION

On Tuesday morning, 216 inmates were housed in the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the jail's maximum population is 292.
