City commissioners to consider resolution to accept stimulus funds

Consideration of a resolution to accept federal funds allocated by the State Energy Conservation Office through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Program to pursue emergency efficiency projects through grant money will be among the first items discussed at the city commission meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at City Hall.

As part of the agenda, voters are also reminded that Tuesday is the last day to vote in the state constitutional amendment and city charter amendment elections. The polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday inside North Street Church of Christ and Thomas J. Rusk Elementary School. The polls will close at 7 p.m., and results will be published in the Daily Sentinel following election night.

A public hearing will also be conducted on the request for approval by the Archangel Capital Partners group to develop lots off of Maroney Drive into an upscale retirement community.

Mayor Roger Van Horn will also present a proclamation recognizing Nov. 2 through 6, 2009, as "Municipal Court Week," and commissioners are also expected to consider the awarding of a bid for asphalt and limestone base products, and they may approve an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Allen for utility services.

The 2010 Routine Airport Maintenance Program (RAMP) Grant project proposal may be accepted by commissioners to help pay for improvements at the A.L. Mangham Jr. Regional Airport.

Other items to be discussed include

* Consideration of ordinance establishing procedures for Municipal Selling Designation.

* Consideration of approval of consultant contract for professional engineering services with 8CS Engineers to provide construction quality assurance for the final cover installation of Block M at the landfill.

* Consideration to award of bid for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project along Lanana Creek between Star Avenue and Park Street.

* Consideration to approve a property condemnation for the structure located at 1101 Shawnee Street.

* Consideration to authorize a tax resale for property described as being Lot 6-C-1, Block 57, City of Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches County, Texas located between Stewart and Railroad streets.

* Consideration to authorize a tax resale for property described as being Lot 6-A. Block 57, City of Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches County, Texas located on Railroad Street.
