House committee on HPV adjourns without voting

Tuesday, February 20, 2007

The House Committee on Public Health has adjourned without voting on the two HPV-related bills it was considering. The committee had been hearing public testimony for more than six hours before ending just after 1:30 a.m.

One of the bills would overturn Gov. Rick Perry's executive order mandating that sixth-grade girls be vaccinated against the human papillomavirus.

The other would create an HPV education program.
