Nacogdoches is one of the oldest cities in Texas and is home to Stephen F. Austin State University. The Daily Sentinel won a 1st place prize for team effort from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors for its coverage of the Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster in 2003.
