A 28-7 loss by the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks to Texas State Saturday in San Marcos shook up the Southland Conference football race.
But it didn't really knock the Lumberjacks down too far in the Division I-Football Championship Subdivision rankings.
In the FCS coaches' poll, the Lumberjacks (6-2, 3-1) dropped three spots to No. 18, with 200 voting points.
In the Sports Network Football Championship Subdivision poll, the Lumberjacks fell four spots to No. 15, with 1,248 voting points.
And in the FCSnow.com poll, SFA dropped four spots to No. 14.
The 7 points scored by the Lumberjacks also lowered their scoring average to 39.8 points per game, which is still first in the country over Appalachian State, which averages 39 points per contest.
Quarterback Jeremy Moses only threw one touchdown pass Saturday, but he is still tied at the top of the national rankings, with 26 scoring passes.
Aaron Rhea is tied for fifth, with nine touchdown receptions.
Evan Engwall missed two field goals, but he is still 11th in scoring.
Tim Knicky is second in the nation with nine sacks.
The Lumberjacks will try to get its offense back on track this week, when it hosts Nicholls State at 6 p.m. Saturday at Homer Bryce Stadium, SFA's final home contest this season.
The Colonels (1-7, 0-4) are allowing 43.1 points per game.
