Nacogdoches ISD officials are seeking parent input on both the 2020-21 school calendar and how classes will be taught.
An online survey has been posted on the district’s website, and will remain open until 5 p.m. this Friday.
The district is considering changes to the academic calendar “because of the real possibility of delays and closures this coming fall and winter related to the COVID-19 threat,” NISD states on its website.
In addition to parent input, the district is also waiting for guidance and directives from the state, spokesman Les Linebarger said.
“We are considering a number of options for what the upcoming school year might look like,” he said.
Among options mentioned in the survey are 100% distance learning, 100% classroom learning, a blended model or one based on a family’s needs. Also under consideration is an earlier start date in August.
