After two weeks with no new coronavirus cases, Nacogdoches ISD on Wednesday reported that a high school student has tested positive.
That student was last on the Nacogdoches High School campus Thursday, the district reported. Since it began posting its positive cases online Sept. 18, NISD has logged cases among 23 students and 13 employees.All students who want in-person instruction have returned to NISD campuses.
NISD updates new cases at its campuses under the link titled “COVID-19 information” on the website, NacISD.org.
In an afternoon update Wednesday, State Health and Human Services added one new case to Nacogdoches County's total. Active cases fell to 75 on Wednesday and fatalities remained 65.
The county emergency management office this week released a graphic depicting 14 and 21-day rolling averages of new cases, which have remained flat since late August.
A seven-day trendline graph shows a slight rise in average cases per day since Oct. 7, and county officials warn residents to avoid crowded parties, trick or treating and indoor haunted houses as the month of October wears on.
Since the fall semester began at SFA, new cases have remained steady, with eight of 200 beds designated for student isolation in use on Wednesday. Of those who have been present on the campus in the past week, 23 students and one faculty member have active cases. SFA lists positive cases under the green “Open SFA” tab located at the university’s website, sfasu.edu.
