Sawyer skills, hike hosted by Mission Tejas

Mission Tejas State Park, located west of Nacogdoches off state Hwy. 21, will host “Sawyer Skills” from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, teaching the art of science of felling trees.

The group will meet at the Commemorative Mission and take a mile hike with the park ranger. An afternoon hike titled “It’s Complicated” is 3 to 4:30 p.m., during which participants will learn about relationships in the forest from fungi to ferns.

Activities are free with park entrance of $3 per person and free for 12 and under. For information, call 936-687-2394.
