More than 90 years after being hanged on the courthouse lawn, Shelby County’s last known lynching victims will be recognized Saturday.

The Equal Justice Initiative will unveil a historical marker memorializing two black lynching victims, Lige Daniels and Buddy Evans. Daniels was lynched on in August 1920. Evans suffered the same fate on May 21, 1928.
