Evidence in the case of a false report that led police into the dorm room of a 17-year-old Stephen F. Austin State University student has been turned over to the Nacogdoches County District Attorney’s Office, and university officials are asking the teen’s family to agree to release body-worn camera footage of the incident.

University Police Department wrapped up its investigation this week into “possible multiple criminal charges” against a group of female students accused of falsely reporting that Christin Evans made threats to stab someone with a pair of scissors, SFA officials said during a Saturday morning press conference.

Whites don’t have a monopoly on Racism. This was so dangerous and should have criminal consequences. I will reevaluate my view if the family won’t allow the tape to be released. However I don’t think the police did anything wrong but those girls......? As a proud Alumni of SFASU I believe this not the kind of publicity or representation we want or need.

if this is really a case of false reporting, the first action should be a permanent dismissal of all students involved from the University. A firm example must be set for those involved in these kinds of incidents.
