A Carthage man was booked into the Nacogdoches County jail for public lewdness this week.
Gilly Glenn Carroll, 49, was charged with the misdemeanor offense for having sex in a bathroom stall at the Pineywoods Fair on Oct. 13.
An officer working security at the fair that night was stopped by a person who reported two people “having coitus” in one of the stalls in the women’s restroom around 9:12 p.m., according to the affidavit filed against Carroll.
The officer investigated the report, entering the restroom where a number of people were seen inside, and looked over the top of the dividing wall, where he reportedly saw the pair engaged in the act, the affidavit states.
The woman admitted to the act, though Carroll apparently denied it initially.
Under the Texas Penal Code, Class A misdemeanors are punishable by up to a year in jail and/or a fine of no more than $4,000.
