The Texas economy lost $13.4 billion over 12 months as a result of inadequate measures to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic, according to famed Texas economist Dr. Ray Perryman.

The massive resistance by policymakers to basic protective measures such as requiring masks and encouraging vaccination has compromised school safety, deepened the educational gap and increased financial losses to businesses and families across the Lone Star State, according to Perryman.
