Suspicious circumstances, 300 block of FM 95. Deputies searched for, but couldn’t find, a truck reported to be towing another vehicle “with a garden hose.”

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 900 block of Pearl St. A burglar stole property from an unlocked vehicle.

Hit-and-run accident, 500 block of NE Stallings Dr. Someone ran into a parked car at a gas station and left with providing insurance information.

Theft, 1000 block of N. University Dr. Someone stole from a person at a store.

Hit-and-run accident, 4000 block of North St. A driver hit another vehicle in a parking lot and left without providing insurance information.

Intoxicated person, 4900 block of NE Stallings Dr. Police arrested a person who was reported “leaving the hospital in an intoxicated state” a short distance from the hospital.

Theft, 1200 block of North St. A person reported being “scammed for a large amount of money” by an unknown person.

Burglary, 200 block of Pecan Grove. Someone stole property from inside a home.

Death investigation, 2100 block of CR 915. Deputies and emergency responders were dispatched to a sick call, where they found a person deceased. A justice of the peace was called.

Scam, 6100 block of FM 698. Deputies took a report of a suspected scam.

Harassment, 300 block of CR 735. Deputies warned a person to stop texting another individual.

Minor accident, 2300 block of Douglass Rd. A deputy ran into a sally-port door at the sheriff’s office.

Arrests included: Matthew Paul Ford, 30, of Lufkin, public intoxication; Hitenkumar Madhubhai Patel, 54, public intoxication — enhanced.

SFA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Burglary of a motor vehicle, Lot 19. Someone broke into a car at a parking lot.

Theft, Hall 16. A bicycle was stolen from outside the Wilson Parking Garage between Dec. 12 and Jan. 12.

Controlled substance, Lumberjack Landing. Two people were cited after they were caught with marijuana.

JAIL POPULATION

As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, there were 241 inmates at the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the maximum population is 292.
