Mark McGee Clark

Mark McGee Clark, 67, passed away on March 12, 2020 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 28, 1952 to George F. Clark, Jr and Jean McGee Clark in Nacogdoches. He attended Christ Episcopal School, Raguet Elementary, TJR Junior High, Saint Stephens Episcopal School in Austin, TX (Class of 1971), and Austin College in Sherman, where he received a BA in economics.

After graduation from college, Mark was in the electrical contracting business and a pioneer in the electrical aggregating industry.

Mark is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet Russell Clark; daughter, Lauren Clark Coleman and husband Teddy Coleman; grandsons, James Titus ‘Ty’ Coleman and Taylor Eugene Coleman of College Station; brother George F. Clark, III and wife Charlotte Ashcroft Clark of Dallas; nephews, George F. Clark, IV and wife Cassie Braddock Clark and their daughter Julia of the Woodlands, Arthur Boone Clark and wife Annelise Williams Clark and their son Spencer of Anna, TX; sister-in-law Kathi Russell Fredd and husband Paul Fredd of Grand Prairie; and long time friend, Baby Ruth Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and George Clark; and his wife’s parents, James and Mary Russell.

From the age of 6, Mark’s gift for electrical wiring was evident to his family. His interests included traveling, reading, working in his shop, and having Friday breakfast with ‘ROMEO’ buddies.

As a young boy, the State of Texas honored Mark as a Honorary Junior Texas Ranger. In college, he was a member of Gamma Gamma Gamma fraternity. Over the years, Mark was a Mason, a Rotarian, a Paul Harris Fellow, Son of the American Revolution, and Master Electrician.

Services for Mark will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church with visitation from 1-2 and funeral following at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Nathan Hodge and Rev. Lorraine Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, Nacogdoches.
