Lt. Colonel Brian Walters

Retired Lt. Colonel Brian Walters passed from this earth on Sunday, February 9th after a courageous battle with cancer of the lungs. He is survived by a son, Dean Walters and wife, Traci, and their teenage son, T.J. of Edmonds, Washington; also his daughter, Julie Johnston and husband, Dean, of Hood River, Oregon, as well as their two grown children, Greg Johnston and Rebecca Johnston; and step-son, Jim Moore, of Chicago, Illinois.

Brian and his wife, Sherry Walters, joined Redeemer Lutheran Church & Student Center in 1999 and will be remembered as a singing couple who loved the Lord, helped others with maintenance of the church, and taught Sunday School of various aged children.

Brian loved barbershop music and his rich bass voice was melded into the quartet of other talented men in The Timbertones of Nacogdoches.

Brian is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ilah Walters and his sister, Mary Beth Troxell.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 13th at Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 2306 Appleby Sand Road, Nacogdoches, officiated by Reverend John Cain.
