Connie Sue Rogers, age 62, passed away October 7, 2019. She was born May 23, 1957 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Luther and Georgia Butler. She married her best friend and love of her life, Harold DeWayne Rogers, on July 10, 1976. Her and Harold made a life together in the deep woods of Nacogdoches, where, in her words, “cell phone service sucks”.

She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Nana”. She was the mother of two sons: Zackary and Cody Rogers and the Nana to three grandboys: Cole, Aeson, and Gavin.

She worked for years at Douglass ISD in the cafeteria. Known as Ms. Connie to hundreds throughout the community, she was mother, friend, and confidant to everyone that knew her. She was world-renowned for her patience and love, and also for not holding back her opinion and telling it like it is.

Connie was a very special person; she would brighten your life by just being in it. She would not want anyone to mourn her but instead to remember her smiling and laughing. Her words to anyone missing her would be to “Live life to the fullest, cherish every moment, and laugh… a lot”.

There will be a memorial and celebration of her life held on Saturday, October 12 starting at 2:00 PM. It will be held at her and Harold’s house, located at 355 CR 7682, Nacogdoches, TX 75964. There will be refreshments available but feel free to bring more food or drinks if you wish.
