David Lee Luna was born July 1, 1947, the oldest grandchild of Jack C. and Laney Poskey Luna.The only son of Louis and Beatrice Triana Luna. Descendant of an early pioneering settler of Nacogdoches Antonio Gil Y’Barbo. He was also a descendant of Rodrigo de’ Triana, who was in the crows’s nest on a ship from Spain with Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his two unborn children and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lindy; sister, Susie; niece, Kristy and six other nieces and nephews.

On Oct. 25, 2019, David passed to eternal life from his home cared for by his wife, sister, friends and Affinity Hospice.

David had an outgoing personality but was private. He enjoyed basketball games — Spurs and Lumberjacks — loved racing cars, and held two first place Grand Nationals trophies, among others. He was an SFA Alumni.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Church at Moral. Burial will be in Moral Cemetery.
