Charles Philip “Charlie” Ramsey

Funeral for Charles Philip Ramsey, also known as “Mountain,” 67, of Nacogdoches, TX formerly of Dallas, TX will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Chapel with Pastor Dave Sarver officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Charlie passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 in Nacogdoches, TX. He was born June 3, 1952 in Dallas, TX to Charles Eugene Ramsey and Annie Louise Guinn Ramsey. Charlie worked as a Carpenter, Hemodialysis Technician, Insurance Salesman and worked for Gateway in Lufkin, TX.

He enjoyed the outdoors and camping. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours fishing with his family, father, brothers and sister. Charlie also enjoyed going to the beach and bowling with friends.

Charlie was a member for Brother’s Keeper Church and was a key participant in the construction projects at his church spending many hours there.

Charlie loved his family dearly and was proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and son.

Survivors include his son, Shawn Philip Ramsey and wife, Jenna of The Woodlands, TX; daughter, Lisa Rhiannon Montes and husband, Gary Lee Montes, Jr. of Nacogdoches, TX; sister, Melinda Jane Spicer and husband, Todd of Garrison, TX; brother, John Paul Ramsey and wife, Cynthia of Wasilla, Alaska; granddaughters, Adrianna Nicole Upshaw, Madalynn Michelle Montes, Raegan Paislee Montes, Julia Elizabeth Ramsey and nephew, William Mark Spicer. His mother, Annie Louise Ramsey of Garrison, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Eugene Ramsey and brother, Stephen Patrick Ramsey.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
