Patrick “Pat” McIver

Graveside services for Patrick “Pat” McIver, 63, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Bethel Cemetery with Jordan Gomez and The Rev. Billy Pinkerton, officiating.

Mr. McIver passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in Nacogdoches. He was born on October 27, 1955 in Palestine, Texas.

Pat grew up with exceptional values and the deep-rooted belief that family came first. He was married to his best friend and love of his life, Patricia Haney McIver in November of 1974, and together, they raised their children, instilling the same inherent values that they so proudly lived by. The two led a wonderful and memory filled life together, until her passing this year in March. Their children were the most important thing to them both. Pat’s priority was to make sure they were fed and taken care of. He was a hard worker and did whatever was needed to make sure his family was happy. Raising 7 boys and 2 girls was never easy, but with his determination and drive, he did just that….he raised them to the best of his ability. He was extremely proud of them and the families they established. His grandchildren were bright rays of happiness to him and he loved them endlessly. Pat never passed up a chance to sit around with his family and closest friends, usually enjoying the things life provided to him. He was most often found lounging in his back yard, cooking and passing the time around the fire.

Pat and Pat were known as “He Pat” and “She Pat” by their closest friends and “Big Daddy” and “Mamma Pat” by most everyone! He loved to be the center of attention, but doted on his wife for all those years, making her his priority. Patricia would plan the McIver Holidays and Patrick would make sure it was done just like she envisioned. Patrick was an honest, compassionate, and loving man who would give his last dollar to someone in need. They both spent lots of evening working benefits for people in the community that had a need for it. He enjoyed reading, classic Rock & Roll and playing horseshoes with family.

Pat is survived by his children, Corey McIver of Nacogdoches, Micah McIver & Jessica Box of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Kris McIver & Joanna Freezner of Jackson, Michigan, Casey McIver of League City, Melanie Thompson and husband, Jeremy of Nacogdoches, Jesse McIver of Fort Collins, Colorado, Josh McIver of Fort Collins, Colorado, Meagan Gomez and husband, Jordan of Hempstead, and Jeremy McIver and Deanna Dixon of Nacogdoches; and 11 grandchildren.
