I wanted to commend The Daily Sentinel for publishing an article about Cushing educator Shelia Beddingfield and for placing her front and center on the cover page. I taught alongside Mrs. Beddingfield for several years, and I know what she said is true: she really does love those kids.

Every time I walked past her door, I couldn’t help but notice her students’ intense concentration. I have often wondered how she maintained such a controlled classroom environment while teaching higher level math to teenagers. Not only is Mrs. Beddingfield a superior educator, she is a trusted friend and colleague. I would like to know how many parents have transferred their children into Cushing ISD just to have Mrs. Beddingfield teach them. Hats off to you, Daily Sentinel, for honoring great educators and hats off to you, Shelia, my friend and fellow educator
