Authorities are seeking a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian on Hwy. 7 early Saturday morning but did not stop.
The driver of what has been described as possibly “an older model Cadillac or Buick passenger car” struck and killed 60-year-old Charles Chandler of Center around 1:25 a.m. in the westbound lane of the highway about two miles east of Nacogdoches, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. David Hendry said in a press release.
Chandler was pronounced dead at the crash site by a Nacogdoches County justice of the peace.
It was unclear from information released Saturday why Chandler was walking along the state highway or when his body was discovered.
“Investigators are requesting anyone with information in regards to this crash to please contact local law enforcement or Lufkin DPS Communications at 936-699-7340,” Hendry said in the statement.
