Thank you Rees Family for sponsoring a superb Christmas Lighting Contest. What a wonderful opportunity for Nacogdoches residents to see the Christmas spirit during the pandemic. The lighting winners listed were fabulous. The Rees Family and Nacogdoches residents were all winners.

I would like to give a shout out and thank you to our Nacogdoches public library. My husband and I read several books a week on our iPads and in this pandemic, we have been especially grateful for the free books.

I especially enjoy the Paulette Jiles series of books that include Nacogdoches in them. I hope the library will get all of her novels. I can’t wait to see the new Tom Hanks movie based on one of her books.

I just wanted to send a shout out to Deputy Garza from the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office. He pulled me over on Appleby Sand Road just before midnight on Wednesday, Jan. 6, because my license plate light was out. I was on my way home from work. He let me off with a warning. He could not have been more respectful and professional. Thank you, Deputy Garza, for your graciousness.
