TIMPSON — Defending their home court became more and more of a challenge as Tuesday night's game wore on, when they Martinsville Pirates fell behind the Timpson Bears by 17 points after the opening period, but clawed back in and had a chance down to stretch to make a monumental comeback.
But the Bears hit the free throws in the fourth period when the game was on the line, as freshman Terry Bussey converted 8-of-12 from the charity stripe in the final eight minutes to finish with a game-high 26 points to help the Bears hold off the Pirates for a 65-48 win inside Bear Coliseum.
