Despite dropping their opening set to Boling Friday night, 23-25, the Central Heights Lady Blue Devils bounced back and withstood the Lady Bulldog charge, squeezing out three straight wins, 25-18, 25-21, 25-21, to advance to the Class 3A Region III Quarterfinals in the volleyball playoffs Friday night at Grand Oaks High School in Spring.

The win boosted the Lady Devils to 40-9 on the season and matches them against Hardin in the third round of the playoffs. The two squads will square off Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Woodville High School, with the survivor advancing to the 3A Region III Tournament next weekend at Longview High School.

Chloe Cook led the Lady Devils with match-high 29 kills, while tallying 10 assists, six digs and four blocks. Emily Petty added 30 assists and six digs. Taylor Chambers pitched in 15 digs and an ace, and Grace Haley added 10 digs and an ace.

Lainee Clement chipped in four kills and three bocks for the Lady Devils, while Britton Arrant finished with three kills, seven digs and a block, and Ellie Davis added three kills to the attack.
